Walks and events

Terry and Peter regularly lead walks as part of the Global Adventurer/Per-Rambulations collaboration and the Exploring East Sussex walking programme. In addition, with Footprints of Sussex, they have been instrumental in developing the Discovering Sussex programme.

To cover the cost of insurance and other expenses 'Per-Rambulations' are introducing, with some regret, a voluntary minimum contribution of £1 per person for all of their day walks.

Exploring East Sussex

Sunday 28th February 2010, at 10am
'The Churches of Cuckmere' Eleven (11) miles.
A long walk connecting the churches and communities that lie within the Cuckmere Valley
Meet at the long stay/pay and display car park north of Alfriston village (TQ521033)

Exploring West Sussex

Important Notice
The future of the Exploring West Sussex walking programme is under review and is not currently being produced by West Sussex County Council. See below.

In the absence of an Exploring West Sussex walking programme, 'Per-Rambulations' and Footprints of Sussex have produced a Discovering Sussex leaflet that gives details of walks between September 2009 and April 2010 lead by both organisations. A programme for the Summer of 2010 will be produced in April 2010.

Up to four walks will be on offer each month.

Copies of this leaflet will be sent to all those on our e-mail list or it can be obtained from 'Per-Rambulations' by e-mail request or by sending a stamped addressed envelope.

Details of all walks will also be posted on the West Sussex County Council web-site

2009 saw the last of the West Sussex Walking Festivals organised by West Sussex County Council. Discussions are in hand between 'Per-Rambulations' and Footprints of Sussex to organise an alternative Festival in October 2010. Details will be made available later in the year.

Details of future walks will be mailed to those on the 'Per-Rambulations' e-mail list and will be included in any future Discovering Sussex walking programme.

Events for 2010

'Per-Rambulations Go To Town'
Sunday 16th May 2010
A day with 'Per-Rambulations' on a walk through the historic and modern streets of London.
Transport from Horsham by coach.
Numbers for this out in London will be limited, booking is therefore essential.

'Old Surrey Crossing'
4th & 5th September and 18th & 19th September 2010
A four-day walking event is being planned to take place over two weekends in September 2010. The 42 mile walk will cross the County of Surrey from north to south.
Coach transport will be provided and booking will be essential.

South Downs Way - In Stages 2010:

"For the first time 'Per-Rambulations' are organising this now regular event along the 105 mile National Trail.

A popular way of walking the South Downs Way, the event is aimed at those who perhaps cannot afford the time off work during the week or feel walking the full length of the Way in one go too much for them.

The 2010 Event takes place over four weekends between April and July starting at Winchester and finishing at Eastbourne.

Dates:
Stage One: 10th and 11th April
Stage Two: 1st, 2nd and 3rd May
Stage Three: 5th and 6th June
Stage Four: 3rd and 4th July

Coach transport will be provided from various pick up points across Sussex
